Cousins

Christian loved hanging out with my brother's kids in Tennessee. Carson and Christian are two months apart and they're doing everything the same! It was really cute to watch them! Ellis is two years older and was a great leader and teacher and Christian really took up to Savannah. John Hughes is only a baby so he hung out with the adults mostly, but he'll be right in there with the rest of them in a few short months!! Missy, my sister in law got a really great picture of Christian and Carson together that I'll post later if she emails it to me.

Our Tennessee Trip

We just got back from a trip to Tennessee to see my family. We had a great time!! In Nashville on the way down we saw my aunts and grandmother and then went to Opry Mills Mall. Christian loved the Rainforest Cafe, the train ride and the carousel. Here are some pictures from our fun at the mall...

Kids Meal Toys

No doubt about it Chick-fil-a has the best kids meal toys (some of them even christian based) and is much healthier than McDonalds, but there are times when Chick-fil-a is not an option...like when you're traveling. This past week on our way home from TN we stopped at a McDondalds and I ordered a chicken nugget meal for Christian. I asked the lady cashier if there were other toys available because the kids toys in the Happy Meals from the new Kung Fu movie had scary eyes and Kelly and I just didn't want Christian to have one. She said no and I chose to opt out of the toy (to her amazement...,"no toy in the Happy Meal...WHAT?") when the manager spoke up and said, "Oh, we always have three-and-under toys. She brought out a cute little Ronald McDonald toy surfing on a fish. Christian loved it and I was happy.
So...Most of you may know about the three and under toys, but in case you were like me and had no idea these were available, know that you can request one in your next Happy Meal. I was joking with Kelly and said that Christian will be eight year old and I'll still be requesting a three and under toy!! :)

Two of Christian's favorite places...

Bass Pro is one of our hot spots! We walk in the door and he's off. He runs weaving in and out of other customers to get to the turtles first, then the fish, then the waterfall (big water as he calls it). Shooting the guns is a must at least twice while we're there and we ride the elevator more times than I can count. This is a VERY fun place for Christian!!!

Another hot spot is the pet store near our house. It's right next to Price Cutter and almost every time we run out to grab a food item we're in need of, we MUST "go see the boids," as he says. This is Christian talking to Bubba, a bird that has been at this particular pet store ever since we've been going (almost two years now). Poor Bubba!!! Christian always runs to his cage and says, "Hello Bubba" until Bubba responds,'hello' Christian looking at the reptiles

My vegetables are doing well. This is a picture of one of my squash plants. I had a baby squash (you can see it if you look hard) but I think my bunnies got it. I do have lots of tiny green tomatoes on my tomato plants though!!! I hope they make it!

Christian's going to take after his Daddy and enjoy working with his hands. He can hammer a nail into a piece of wood with very little assistance!!
