Call Me Crazy, But...

3 things that drive me nuts about grocery store clerks:
1. when they act a little too interested in the food you're buying

2. when they're chatty with everyone in front of you and you're in a hurry (especially when the conversation is about Dungeons and Dragons and Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

3. when they look at you judgementally because you have let your toddler open many of the snacks you're buying in order to keep him from getting bored.

...experienced all three this week

Call Me Crazy, But...

3 things that drive (no pun intended) me nuts when I'm behind other drivers on the road, are when the person in front of you:
1. comes to a complete stop to turn before putting on their signal

2. stops at a just-turned yellow light instead of going on through

3. throws out their cigarette and it hits your car

...experienced all three this week.

Sweet Baby

There's nothing like waking up in the mornings, getting all snugly with warm milk and watching Clifford the Big Red Dog!

Christian and Daddy playing outside before bed.

Fun Pictures of Christian

Christian's really into making silly faces. He has several that he'll break out usually at the dinner table or when we're in the car. His favorite is to make a sad face and then when we notice he'll quickly put on the happiest face ever....the pictures show these two favorites :)

Landscaping Over the Weekend

We finished some landscaping in the front of our house this weekend. We were excited to have nice weather to play outside in and get it done. Kelly worked super hard and did it all -start to finish- in one day!! We're going to do more around the house, but I'm posting some pictures to show off what we have completed :)

On My Heart

Okay...So, I'm stepping out on a limb today and blogging some thoughts that have been in my head and on my heart for quite sometime. These are things God is speaking to me and I believe to be completely true about God's working on earth today and in the Christian life. You may or may not agree, but here goes...

1. I believe the fields are truly ripe for harvest because the Holy Spirit is real, relevant and at work in our world. Jn. 4: 34-38

2. I believe that the Holy Spirit is the only one who is relevant for every society and culture and that our own (the churches) ideas of relevancy for spiritual advancement of a people-group are void of power and a waste of time. Rev. 2:1-7

3. I believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues is not something that should be overlooked as a necessary component to the Christian life. Luke 3:16, Luke 24:49, Acts 4:33

4. I believe we are here on earth to do only the Lord's work. If this is not the believer's first and foremost focus, then I question the salvation of the one who calls himself a believer. Jn. 20:21, Lk. 4:18

5. Although God has given us all things for our enjoyment, I believe the Christian life is not so much about pleasure as it is sacrifice and suffering. Mk8:34, Lk14:27, Phil. 1:20-21

In other words, it's not about us. It's not about our agenda. It's not about our comfort, it's all about the advancement of the gospel. Being a Christian is not about going to or belonging to a church. Often times this seemingly righteous act can become all about you. How can we change that?
Thanks for listening!!!

Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails...

Check out these pictures of Christian playing with fishing worms...so cute!!
On Monday it was beautiful outside so we spent most of the day playing with the neighbor girl and these fishing worms. We've had a lot of rain here in Missouri and the worms are everywhere and Christian loved finding them (with Daddy's help), putting them on this landscaping rock, pouring dirt and water on them, holding them, kissing them, and even sucking on one (I was so grossed out and emphasized he should never do this...ha!). He called them "wormies" and said they were "cute". He even posed and said cheese for this last picture -without me even telling him to!! Too Cute!!

To the Zoo with Mimi and Poppy

Mimi and Poppy came to Missouri to see us last weekend! We had a great time while they were here. On Saturday Ben, Katie, Layla, and Titan came down and we all headed to the zoo. It was loads of fun seeing all the animals and we couldn't have asked for a prettier day!!

Beliefs, Behaviors, and Boys

Hello! Thanks for checking out my blog!! I decided to start a blog mainly for snapshots of 'my boys', Kelly and Christian. I'm so proud to be Kelly's wife. He is a man of integrity, creativity and sensitivity. He steals my heart everyday. I'm equally proud to be Christian's mother. What an outgoing, energetic two-year-old with an unparalleled sense of humor. He is my life.
And you, no doubt if you stay tuned in to my postings, from time to time you will easily see my innate beliefs and common behaviors. I'm on blogger mainly to post photos but because of my fairly unambiguous personality, my straight-forward thoughts will shine through now and then :)
Thanks again for visiting Lianne's Blog and don't forget to leave a comment once in a while.
